Employees or contractors?
If you're looking to hire a driver, there advantages to both employees and contractors. An employee must do everything you tell them to, but the cost of hiring them can be more than a small trucking company can handle. A contractor will typically cost less in taxes to hire, but will require a higher rate of pay to compensate for that. They also have the complete freedom to set their home time and to accept or refuse loads.
