Once again, I can report all is going well. Winter is almost in full swing out here on the road even though Autumn is technically not over yet. The trees have lost all their leaves, snow patches are lying in many spots and all the trucks are now to some extent covered in nasty salt stains from the salt that has been sprayed on the road. Truckers have pulled out their winter wear and we all seem to be competing for who can look like the biggest hobo. This week was the third week that we have not climbed above the 32 degree Fahrenheit range (or 0 degrees celcius for those of you on a more reasonable temperature scale). As a result we have encountered a new problem - our bunk heater does not heat the floor very well and our little guy, who likes to throw off his blankets, is starting to get a little cold.
We have our sleeping situation set up so that our little guy sleeps on the floor of the truck on a crib mattress that we had made him out of a piece of memory foam. It is very comfortable and weighs very little so it is easy to move around. The mattress lies lengthwise down the center of the truck between the two chairs. Unfortunately, with the mattress being so thin it is absorbing a lot of the cold that is coming up from the floor making it more solid. I have spent several weeks now trying to find the best solution to the problem. Here's what I have done so far:
I have also seriously considered an electric blanket and you may wish to do so too.

- Wrap the mattress in a thick woolen blanket;
- Surround the edge of the mattress next to the driver chairs with pillows to block any wind leak in the through the door edges;
- Cover the little guy up with two blankets;
- Dressed him in fleece winter pajamas and socks.
